Repairs and Coatings

Atmospheric pollutants such as C0² and S0² reduce the alkalinity of the cover concrete, allowing corrosion of the steel reinforcement. If left unchecked this leads to concrete spalling, ultimately affecting structural integrity.  Hand applied; polymer- modified repair mortars are used to repair concrete beam, panels, balcony floors and other concrete features.

Large volume structural repair may be necessary to correct extensive deterioration. These repairs are usually associated with exposure to aggressive environments such as industrial, highway and marine environments. For these type of large repairs “spray- application” is faster, more straightforward, durable and cost effective repair solution.

Protective coatings providing against aggressive acidic gases and water-borne chlorides are available in many formulations such as anti-graffiti coating, elastomeric high build and smooth, anti carbonation, flame retardant and decorative finishes. Roofing and deck water proofing systems provide cost effective and long lasting performance solutions.

Corrosion inhibitors offer the method of treatment to concrete elements where air and moisture containments are suspected to have reached the depth of reinforcement and may have instigated the corrosion process without spalling or cracking on the concrete surface.   Resin injection and vacuum resin encapsulation offer the benefits of carrying out repair and encapsulation works with or without minimum destructive cutting out work being undertaken, minimising the impact on the job site environment.
